Game Night
This was not my favorite piece to do. I knew it was going to be challenging when I started it but I found that I really struggled with it. The perspectives on the lettering on the cards needed to be exact to make it as realistic as possible. I messed up on the cards lying on the table and I think that it threw the piece off a little bit. The shadows on my hand do look very realistic which I like. I chose to do this piece on blue colored pencil paper because I thought it might bring out the colors in my hands. It brought out the color well in my hands but it became problematic when I was drawing the white cards. It was hard to hide the blue behind it. After completing this piece I switched to using a brown paper for all of my pieces and it not only brings out every color but it also doesn't stand out behind my colors. I found this piece to be a huge learning experience. I discovered what colors to use when coloring skin and what types of paper do and dont work. Overall I did not like this piece very much but I was able to learn from it to help me improve my skills.
