THe Art of Baking Cookies
This is one of my new favorite pieces. I love the composition I chose for this project. I bake cookies and all sorts of treats a lot so this is definitely showing "A Day in the Life of Madison Marrott." The color of the Silpat is spot on and I think that the sides of the cookie sheet look great. I spent the most amount of time on the cookie front and center. It took a lot of work to try and get the texture just right. I am still unsatisfied with the front cookie but sometimes you just have to stop messing with a piece and that's what I did. Normally Mrs. Rossi wants us to shy away from using black because it can be a very harsh color and once you go black you can never go back. But, I decided to use the black anyways and it really brought the picture to life. All the little cracks in the cookie look so much better because I used the black pen. Overall I am very happy with this piece. Someday I may try to go back and get the details just right on the main cookie but until then I'm done!
